Snowflakes are Kisses from Heaven

Happy Thursday! One of my favorite activities to do in the winter is to play in the snow so I had to create a snowflake card.
I found this penny slider card on the silhouette online store from my favorite designer.  If you don't  have a silhouette but have a Cricut Explore, you can buy this cut file to use with your cricut.

I love using one color family to make a card.  The snowflake paper is from  Martha Stewart stack and the other blues are from Stampin Up.

I usually will use my handwriting for sentiments in small spaces but I just could not pull it off.  I typed this in MS Word and used a Stampin Up punch to perfect my sentinment.
I hope you have a wonderful day and I will see you tomorrow!

Peace on Earth

Happy Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  As most of you know we are working on Christmas in July and we are almost half way there.  I used this stamp set yesterday and today I decided to pull the other sentiment from Peaceful Season.

I picked colored that were rich and earthy tone.  The bottom striped paper is from SU and it is cut to 2 1/2" x 4 1/4".  I added details with a white gel pen.  I wrapped satin ribbon around the entire card base front and added a faux bow.  Lastly, I colored the Earth from Peaceful Season and poured glossy accents on it.
Have a great day and I will see you tomorrow!

Season's Greetings

Happy Tuesday!  I hope you are having a great start to your day.
I have been trying to get back into my card making groove by looking through my old cards.  One particular year, it seemed very easy and I was on roll.  Shortly after that my family expanded and I became really exhausted.  I am just now getting my second wind and I feel better. I hope to
keep this momentum.

Easy card for today.  The masking technique is old one but a good one.
I started off with stamping the flowers and the stamping the same flowers on scrap paper.  I then cut out the scrap paper flowers and adhered them on top of the stamped flowers.  Then I stamped the leaves randomly on the top of the flowers.  This technique protects the flowers from the other ink.

One of the best sentiment sets out there.  I love the scroll look.  At the bottom I added faux pearls with this stuff called liquid pearls.  You can find it at most crafts stores but the ink.

I added pearls to the center of each flower.  I love this simple card.  Have a great day and see you tomorrow!

Season's Greetings

Happy Sunday!  I do not mean to scare you but Christmas is in 157 days.  SCARY!  A tradition I have on my blog is to get a head start in July.  Yes, it is Christmas in July.  This week will be all about Christmas including Fabric Friday.  I am so excited.  I am pulling out old stamps and cartridges to make the week special.  I hope you will join me for seven days of Christmas.
My first card is a ladder card and it was very simple to make.  You will find a list of cartridges and card dimension at the bottom of this post.

I cut this snowman at 3 inch and deleted the face so I would have a place to stamp.

To add details get a fine tip markers and add fun character embellishments.

Christmas Decor

Happy Sunday!  Are you ready for Christmas? Around here we are trying to make those last purchases and let me tell we have been busy.  Shopping for two kids is a lot of fun but it can be time consuming.  I fear for my hubby putting all those toys together on Christmas Eve.  Here are some of my decor for my house.
This is a mantle and there is Dora's eyes.  Funny!

I made this wreath for our front mirror.

This is absolutely my favorite!!!!  Here is our front door. I think I will make one for each season with different props.
Have a great day!

Love Makes Christmas a Delight!

Happy Wednesday! I was digging yesterday through my paper stash and found this fun scrappin kit from Stampin Up.
This kit was sold by Stampin Up many years ago.  I love that chocolate paper with the big red and green stripes in this kit.  But oh wait, did you notice the embellishments.  All the embellishments come ready to stick and they are made with thick materials making my Christmas card for today a cinch.
I just added different layers to my card.
Here is a close up on the label.
I hope you have a great day and stay warm!

A Very Merry Christmas (Tutorial)

Happy Monday!  I hope you are having a great day.  We are stuck in the house and I have time to write a card tutorial.
Begin with a 4 ¼ x 11 piece of cardstock.  I decided to have pool party from Stampin Up as my base.  My top layer is 3 7/8 by 5 1/8 with the second layer 1/16 larger than the top.  Of course my designer paper is from the Martha Stewart Christmas pad collection.

Before I glued the layers together I made a faux ribbon string.  I use a very small ribbon and stuck it to the front with the remaining taped down to the back.  Since the ribbon is big and bulky, I simply used my glue gun to adhere it to the card.

Next I cut and stamp the ornament from Close to My Heart, Very Merry Christmas set.  This set can be used with Artiste cartridge.

To give my ornament some sparkle, I lightly sprayed it with glue then dumped sparkles all over it.  Last I added diamond stones to the ornament. I hope you find this tutorial useful today.  Even if you don’t have the exactly the material listed in my tutorial, you can adapt to your needs.  Don’t forget to sign up for my blog and email. Enjoy your day!

This friendly snowman is from Sesame Street cartridge.

Have a great day and stay warm!

Don't Get Your Tinsel in a Tangle!

Happy Saturday!  We are still iced in our homes so I had plenty of time to work on a Christmas Card.  It is that time of year when we all get stressed out about everything and this card puts things in perspective for us all.  When you are looking for that perfect gift that isn't the store or you can't get that gift wrap just right, remember this!
Do you have a cart that you just bought because you thought was cute and haven't used it?  I bought Teen Scene because of all the cuteness but this is my first time using it.  I followed the suggested height in the handbook on this beauty and added some special touches.  All the cardstock is from Stampin Up.  The lights are from Christmas Cheer (oldie).  Her face was stamped with Peachy Keen "Laughy Taffy".

What girl doesn't love sparkly shoes?  If things are crazy in your life, just remember my card!
Don't forget to sign up for my blog and emails. Don't hesitate to email if you have any questions.
Stay warm!

Ornament exchange

Happy Friday!!!!
Wow, what a week!  Two days ago it was 80 degrees here in TX and now we are completely iced over.  No school for today!  I am so happy I got a lot of rest this morning.
Yesterday, my friends and I had an ornament exchange. I thought about doing a cute gift bag but I quickly decided to make an ornament box.

Have a great day!

Merry Christmas

Happy Thursday!  I hope you enjoyed your Christmas and got lots of goodies.  Christmas has past and I am still making Christmas cards.  My girlfriend is in town and I wanted to make her a cute card.  There isn't much to my card today.
Just two strips of designer paper and stamps.

This is a very cute Stampin Up polka dot tree.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Warm Wishes

Happy Wednesday!!! Oh my goodness, it has been a very long time since I posted a card.  So let me catch you up on things.  Back in September my hubby changed my room over to a smaller room to make room for our newest addition and let me just say I did not know that room was that tiny.  As we are moving things in my heart begin to break.  I quickly realize I will have to lose some of my storage things and tables. I quickly started to figured out how to make it work but I had the ultimate problem with moving around the room, my 8 month sized pregnant belly. I was so discouraged so I did nothing.  Now I have some time I now that the baby sleeps some during the day to get into my room and organize.  Oh yeah, did I mention baby!!! She is here and she is so beautiful.  She came into our lives four weeks ago and I wouldn't change a thing.

Let's talk about the card for this week.  Yes, I said this week.  I would love to think I could card make all day but I have someone who needs my attention most of the time.
Here is the front of the card.

I think it added a sparkly touch with the dazzling diamonds.

I used Stampin Up Brocade stamp to add some details to the mug.

Sometimes when your printer isn't hooked up to an outlet, use your own handwriting.

I could not find a clear button for the life of me today and then I had an idea.  I keep the extra buttons I get from different sweaters and shirts in a jewelry box and there was a clear one.  SCORE!

Here is the card again.
